Make Your Own Healthy Chocolate with Essential Oils

Make Your Own Healthy Chocolate With Essential Oils:

Would you like to make your own healthy chocolate with essential oils? Does it seem a little strange to put essential oils into your chocolate? We LOVE these chocolates! They are delicious and good for you.

Peppermint helps give clarity, and is very refreshing....it also helps your tummy if it is feeling uneasy. Dark chocolate above 72% is known to have health benefits as well.

Often when we want a sweet treat, but want something healthy, we make our own chocolate and then add the edible Young Living Essential Oils. We hope you like it as much as we do.

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces 73-88% Chocolate or Baker’s Chocolate

  • 10 drops of pure liquid stevia (can also use naturally flavored peppermint stevia or stevia powder that comes with a tiny pinch scoop…use 10 pinch scoops)

  • 1/2 tsp. Young Living Essential Oil (You may choose a different one depending on the season or personal preference: Cinnamon Bark, Orange, Tangerine, Peppermint, Wintergreen)

  • Himalayan Sea Salt Sprinkled over the top (optional)

Optional: nuts, sea salt, dried fruit, Young Living’s dried Ningxia Wolfberries

How To Make:

  • Line a large full sized cookie/baking sheet with all natural waxed paper (we get ours from Natural Grocers) or just use parchment or waxed paper on the counter (you want a long sheet so you have lots of room to spread it out thin).

  • Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, or you can use a crock pot, or you can put a measuring cup inside a pan (cast iron or stainless steel), fill up the pan about halfway with water and make sure you can put the measuring cup in there without it spilling over and melt the chocolate in the measuring cup.

  • Add in the Stevia, and Young Living Essential Oil of choice, and stir until all the chocolate is melted.

  • Once it is melted, pour onto the waxed paper and use a spatula to spread chocolate about 1/4″ thick or less. Thinner is better, then you will have thin mint-type chocolate treats.

  • Side Note: Our kids love to grab a banana or fresh strawberries from the garden and dip it in the excess that is left in the crock pot. Or you can pour it over ice cream, or dip salted crackers in it. Yum!

Waiting is the hard part :)

Optional: You can sprinkle nuts, sea salt , dried fruits, Young Living’s Ningxia Dried Wolfberries over the top (use as much or as little as you like)

  • Allow it to cool. May take 6 hours or overnight.

  • Once it is dry, break the chocolate apart into uneven chunks, store in an airtight container, you can place in the refrigerator if you would like it to stay fresh longer.

This makes a great snack, or treat to take a family member or friend who has been sick. The peppermint will help with calming the stomach or with clearing up the nose if someone is congested. The chocolate, if it is over 72% is full of antioxidants.

Please post your comments below if you try these chocolates with Young Livings Oils, we would love to hear how you like them. Remember, not all oils are edible. These are the only oils we can recommend, because we know they are pure.

Blessings,
