What Are Essential Oils?

What Are Essential Oils Exactly?

  • They are the “life force” or “blood” of the plant?

  • The oil in the plant helps the plants metabolism, like enzymes.

  • When a plant is cut, it bleeds this oil (oleo-gum-resin) into the wound which initiates healing.

  • The liquid from the stem if you break it in half. If you take a dandelion stem and break it in half…the liquid inside, is the “life force” or oil from the plant.

  • The plants immune system warding off, viruses, bacteria, microbes, fungi, parasites, and insects.

  • The aromatic liquids are distilled from the plants (derived from leaves, stems, flowers, and roots of the plants)

  • They are much more potent than herbs. Herbs are dried. Oils are the essential life force from the living plant.

  • One example is that 1 drop of peppermint oil is equivalent to drinking 26 cups of peppermint tea, revealing that the oil is more potent than the dried herb.

  • The molecules from the essential oils are tiny. All things put on our skin or inhaled, absorbs into our bloodstream at different rates. Essential oils are absorbed immediately. With a few of the oils, some people have said they feel a temporary burning feeling, it is a feeling that comes from them absorbing into your body at a cellular level so quickly. It is not a bad feeling, but a feeling like you know it is working. To slow it down you can apply pure almond oil or olive oil to your skin before and/or after.
